Introduction
==============
Recently, many of you heard and watched how Beyonce fell on stage during her routine and how she got up and continued with her show. Well, she, just like may of you, understands that the show must go on. All of us at one time or another have experienced loss or a tragic situation. For example, yesterday there was a major calamity in Minneapolis, Minnesota where a bridge collapsed and many individuals died.
The crazy thing about that is that even though many of us knew this, not many of us stopped to do anymore about it than converse about it over the phone or at the coffee trough at work. The point is this— This world is gonna keep going whether you are here or not and the show will continue whether you lie there on the floor and hold your face or if you get up and keep dancing. Not matter what, the show will go on.
Your job, my dear friend, is to put on one heluva show.
Take advantage of every day, every minute and every second that you have to put your best foot forward, to do your best, to be your best and to govern yourself like a Champion and not a Chump. Because you never know which moment may be your last. And you certainly don’t want your “last moment” that people remember you by to be a “Chump Moment”.
I know this isn’t one of Coach Ferguson’s regular posts, but Ole Coach feels kinda sad any time he see the names of soldiers who have passed on roll across the TV screen, or when he sees calamaties like the one in Minnesota and the like. Ole Coach isn’t sad because they’re gone, because Ole Coach knows that we all have to “leave” at some time or another. Ole Coach gets sad because many people who leave here don’t understand that they only have one opportunity to put on “One Heluva Show” and although the show must and will go on…….. there are so many actors and actresses who will look at your show in order to see how they should act.
So please, please, please - don’t act - Like a Chump!

Obesity, Contagious?
==============
Recently there was a report that said that Obesity was contagious. Now I don’t think that they meant it was contagious like you can “catch it” from someone like a virus or som’n. I think that they meant that it was and is “socially” contagious. And you know what - I AGREE!!
Yes, I agree that Obesity is contagious. Even in the Bible it states that “Bad company corrupts good character” and we’ve all heard that cliche, “Birds of a feather flock together”. Well, if you really think about it - its true.
Just think about how you’ve picked up speech patterns and phrases from your best friend over the years. Think about how you don’t smoke, but if someone you’re around smokes alot, then inevitably you end of smoking too. If not really smoking, then by way of second hand smoke, but smoking none the less. The same thing happens when you hang out with people and they are casually eating, you end up eating too.
And the place where you can really see this take place is in marriages. Many men, can take in more calories than their spouses because they have more muscle mass on average and they burn more calories, but what happens? Well, the husband and wife sit down to watch a movie and they “share” the popcorn. They eat and share the food 50-50. Well, afterwhile, the female will start to get bigger. This will allow the male to start slackin’ with his fitness because of a lack of pressure and then its all downhill……. Before you know it, you will have put on 10 to 15 lbs., your wife will put on 30, then she’ll start hanging out with bigger women, because the smaller ones will put to much social pressure on her. And then she’ll be hanging out with her fat friends at the beach sunbathing and taking pictures like this

And then she’ll be telling you that this is okay because it shows that she loves herself and that she has good self-esteem.
Okay, maybe, I went a lil’ bit too far with the story, but you get my point. The point is, this - there are some social conformity issues when it comes to being obese or fit.
Do Ole Coach a favor - look around at your friends. Are they fat or fit. If they’re not fit, get yourself some fit friends and watch what happens. You will either have to get fit or get from around them. Because fit people and fat people just really don’t mix. Why? Well, the lifestyles are very different.
That’s why you don’t see a fit person in the picture above
